Air Assisted Flare Systems
The BTZ-AA (air assisted) flare represents an effective alternative to traditional steam assisted smokeless flares. Significant advantages of the air assisted design is a dramatic reduction in maintenance of the flare tip and lower operating costs. Location of the air blower near grade permits "on-line" maintenance of the smoke suppression system which is virtually impossible with steam flares. The continual flow of forced draft air cools the tip and prevents flame pull down in high wind conditions. Callidus has supplied BTZ-AA flares with capacities of 200,000 lbs/hr smokeless with a total release of 1,500,000 lbs/hr. The BTZ-AA flare utilizes a coaxial design with the air duct surrounding the internal waste gas riser. Callidus' design normally utilizes a two speed blower or multiple blowers and includes the blower control system and logic.
